Alexis Sanchez early this morning put all doubt about his fitness to rest by scoring a brace in Chile’s comeback 3-1 victory against Uruguay.

It is such a welcome news for gunners all over the world and especially our manager who had been so critical of Chile’s insistence that Alexis would play against Uruguay just days after being reported to have pulled up in training.

Seeing that we had a tough  trip away to Manchester United, coached by least favorite fellow manager, Mourinho; Wenger described any attempt by Chile to play Alexis Sanchez as possibly ‘suicidal’.

However, Alexis passed all possible test of his fitness in the match against Uruguay by not only starting but playing 84 minutes and scoring two goals – the 2nd of which was a solo goal where he had to latch on to a ball over the top from 40 yards out, run at goal and shrug off two Uruguayan defenders before placing a shot past the keeper, in a full show of his usual pace, stamina and strength.

To beat United and Mourinho, irrespective of their current forms, and to consolidate our top spot in the Champions League group, we need a fit and firing Alexis Sanchez.
