We have a good record against Antonio Conte’s Chelsea but our confidence going into tomorrow’s showdown is not at its highest, especially if the injury update delivered by Arsene Wenger this morning is anything to go by.

We host Chelsea tomorrow in our first match of 2018 with a depleted squad.

Medium-term absentees and first-team regulars Giroud, Ramsey, and Monreal are still out. The boss had earlier pencilled them down to return first and second week of January respectively, any way.

Ozil missed the weekend’s match against Westbrom, while Kolasinac and Koscielny were taken off with injury during the match and the manager has marked Ozil has the one who is most likely to play.

Here is what he said: “At the moment out injury list is quite long because we lost Kolasinac, we lost Koscielny and we had already Monreal, Giroud, Ramsey and Ozil out.

“The two who have a little chance (for Chelsea) are Ozil. He might have a test this morning but he hasn’t been out at all since Crystal Palace.

“And Koscielny, but yesterday the medical department were pessimistic on Koscielny.
“Kolasicnac is out completely for at least two weeks. Koscielny is 30 per cent available, 70 per cent not.”

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

Do you think we can maintain our good recent form against even if Koscielny and, especially, Ozil don’t play?
